Dwarven gold, recovered from Eebor, from under the very claws of Smaug!
My son recently started 'big school' and made a new friend there. When it came up in conversation we were big LOTR / Hobbit fans, it turned out his father had some 'connections'... and guess what he brought in for us...
Yep they made real metal coins for the movie, goodness knows how many!
One side had a dwarven face... the other what looks like a ship with a row of shields along the side, much like a viking longboat... at least that's how it appears to my eyes...
Another object that will take pride of place in my display cabinet :-)
My daughter thinks that is beyond cool!
