All the efforts made by the hobbyists who have taken part in the painting of the 5000 figures for the Gallipoli Diorama, funded by Sir Peter Jackson, and to be displayed at the Dominion Museum in Wellington, has been featured in a news bulletin on TVNZ news...

I was lucky enough to be briefly featured in the footage, as it opens with a close up of me filing away, and then you can spot me throughout the feature, wearing a grey top, working under my little light rig.

Sam stole the limelight and rightly so with the amount of work he has contributed.

Well done to all for taking part, and thanks to TVNZ for their coverage.

  2. An opening close up! You might make this year's Dancing With The Stars!

Great to see some mainstream media coverage, and some familiar faces (Sam from Kapiti and Alex from the Hutt). I'd forgotten how nice and grand and old fashioned the old museum was. Lots of memories of going there as a kid :-)

    1. LOL... perish the thought! ;-)

Indeed... and yes it was apparenly PJ's young experiences at the museum that made him select it as the site he wanted to make the display at now!

  4. It was good even coverage, quite impressed as hobbyists weren't portrayed as weird nerds! I guess it helps that its organised by a world leading special effects company, knighted world renowned film director and an ex senior NZ military officer!

    1. Exactly, for once wargamers were not depicted as weirdos! :)

  5. If you took all the weirdos out of wargaming you'd hardly have enough bods left for a round of Bridge. Long live weirdness I say.
Great to see you on the box Scott...a celebrity no less. :-)

  7. Hope you had a good ANZAC Day Scott.

I don't think any other two countries have the sort of tradition that brings ours together like this. When people ask me how Aussies and Kiwis get along I say like brothers; we fight, complain and argue about one another, but God help anyone who gets between us!
